Usla pressmeddelanden om världens rekordhöga militärutgifter hos Sipri

Sipri har publicerat sin Yearbook, och på Sipris egen sajt finns det inget användbart eller intressant framplockat att länka till eller citera. Allvarligt talat var det länge sedan jag såg en sajt med så undermåliga pressmeddelanden och usel organisation av sina nyhetssidor.
Alltså hittar man de intressanta fakta som finns i rapporten på andra ställen:
”For the first time since the Cold War, global military spending has topped a (T) trillion dollars in a single year.
That’s more than two and a-half percent of the globe’s gross domestic product (…) just under what it was in 1987-88 – at the peak of world defense spending.
With military operations in Iraq, Afghanistan and the war on terrorism, the US was responsible for nearly half the total military spending in 2004.
The Stockholm International Peace Research Institute says its figures may be on the low end, because countries are increasingly outsourcing military services without classifying them as such.”
